Hunger Relief International is an organization that works to provide hunger relief, clean water, sanitation, health care, and education to help those who are struggling to live a life with more dignity and a hope to move beyond their circumstances to break the cycle of poverty. Those who are educated strive for a better future.
Hunger Relief International works locally with areas where the need is great and grants don’t often reach. Rather than importing donated food, they set up programs for clean water, irrigation, and gardens that provide a self sustaining community. This helps community development and economic growth as people begin selling the excess of their gardens and earning an income. They also provide goats and hens to families to give them a continuing supply of food and more opportunity to provide income for their families.
Education is also a large focus of the organization. Teaching children that they can become something besides another crime statistic empowers them to pursue an education and to provide them with the hope that they can have an honest job.
